Earthquake and Disaster

Turkey recently had a big earthquake that measured 6.8 on the Richter scale. It happened on January 24, 2020, at 8:55 pm and caused a lot of damage to buildings and people, especially in Kahramanmaraş. Many other cities were also affected, like Adana, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis, and Hatay. Sadly, more than 45,000 people died as a result of the earthquake.

This disaster shows that Turkey needs better plans for dealing with disasters. The country is often hit by earthquakes because it’s in an area where earthquakes happen a lot. It’s important to make plans that can reduce the amount of damage and deaths caused by disasters.

One way to do this is to teach people what to do in emergencies and how to prevent disasters. We can’t just make buildings stronger – we also need to make sure they are built to high standards and that people know how to use them safely. We can use new technology and materials to make buildings safer, but we also need to teach people how to take care of each other.

It’s very important to make sure that people are safe and taken care of during disasters. We need to teach people to be responsible and to help each other.
