Technology is undeniably a huge part of our lives nowadays. We use it everywhere, from everyday activities to exploring other galaxies. However, some people think that technology has become too advanced and alienates us from our humanity, while others believe that technology is the foundation of civilization and the key to its future advancement.
It is true that technology has allowed us to reach where we are today, even in terms of civilization. To illustrate, we have established foundations to help people, built schools to educate children, and constructed hospitals to cure diseases. These are all examples proving that humanity can achieve great and civilized things through technology.
On the other hand, it is also true that technology has brought destruction at certain points in history. Humans have used their creativity to build machines of destruction to kill each other. Countless people have died throughout history in wars. They were killed so brutally that some believed humanity had lost its sense of morality. There are also records of hospitals being bombed, sick people being left untreated intentionally, and poison being used for killing. The examples are endless.
To summarize, I believe technology fosters civilization when used wisely. It is a powerful tool that should not be used carelessly. Humans must remain in control and be cautious, or else technology will no longer serve humankind. This is why it is crucial how we use technology.
