What Are DNA-Based IDs?
I believe DNA-based IDs would work by having the government collect our DNA from tests or background records and store it on a card or in a digital database. Now, let’s explore the advantages and disadvantages of this system.
Advantages
One major advantage is that the government would have more detailed information about us. This could be beneficial in cases of emergencies or crimes, as DNA-based IDs would provide valuable data to help solve situations more efficiently. However, despite these benefits, there are also significant drawbacks.
Disadvantages
In my opinion, there are more disadvantages than advantages. For example, if a hacker were to breach the government’s database, they could steal our DNA information and use it for identity theft, pretending to be us. Worse, they could potentially use our DNA to create clones, which could lead to even more crimes being committed under our identity.
Conclusion
These are my thoughts on DNA-based IDs. Personally, I don’t think such a system will become a reality, but even if it did, I wouldn’t support it. Thank you for reading!
