DISADVENTAGES OF OVERPOPULATION
Overpopulation or low population have some bad effects regarding welfare of community. This issue is important for both the individuals and states.
Firstly, overpopulation is a big problem in all of the world. The world population increased from 1 billion in 1800 to 7.7 billion today. This issue creates many difficulties. For example, if a country has a large population there will be a great famine. China, India and many African countries live this problem. People who live in these countries cannot find meat. In terms of water scarcity, South Africa comes to mind first. There is a daily water usage capacity of 25 litres. For some people this may be too much, but we use more than 200 gallons of water in a day – one gallon is five litres.
Secondly, overpopulation causes environment problems. For example, air pollution exists in many of Chinese cities. Air pollution causes both global warming and destroys the habitats.
As a result, over-population creates many problems regarding people, animals and habitats. Therefore, I believe that humanity should take some measures to control the population in the world. Otherwise, overpopulation will reduce the welfare and destroy the world.
