Creating A Sustainable World

The outlook on the future of our world is a topic that has been discussed by many philosophers and scholars for ages . Many young people are pessimistic about what the future holds for us , while others are optimistic and believe that the future will be better than the present that we have now . Exploring the both views of this topic may lead to a deeper understanding of the human condition which is an urgent topic for the whole world .

On the one hand , pessimism about the future may be seen as a natural response to the fatal challenges facing the world today.  Climate change and economic inequality are just a few of the issues that can leave young people feeling hopeless about our future. Arthur Schopenhauer once wrote  ” The two enemies of human happiness are pain and boredom. ”  From this quote it is clear to see how the problems of the world can lead to both of them.

On the other hand, optimism about the  future can be a powerful force for the change of our future. We need to understand that humanity is not flawless and has flaws, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make progress for our future that is ahead of us . Some people believe that by working together, we can create a better world for the next  generations.

It is important to remember that both of these opinions have their own strengths and weaknesses facing agains them . Pessimism can lead to despair and being hopeless, however optimism can lead to the exact opposite. It is up to each individual to find a balance between the two. As the famous philosopher that we all know Friedrich  Nietzsche once said ” He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how. ” This quote is about the importance of having a sense of  purpose and meaning in life , even when you  are facing despair . Whether one is  pessimistic or optimistic about the future of the world,  it is important to have a sense of purpose and to work towards creating a world that aligns with one’s values and beliefs .

In conclusion, the debate about the future of the world is a discussion that is still going on, and both pessimism and optimism have their places . But at one point we should stop being neither pessimistic or optimistic, but be a realist persons to see and understand our surroundings more.  By that, we can come together and can create a world that is more equitable, sustainable and better. Not only for our future generations but for all of us .
