COVID-19

The pandemic, which started four years ago with the Covid-19 epidemic worldwide, caused major changes in our country. Considering the transformation between before and after the pandemic, I would like to share my thoughts on the changes in education, health, and the economy.

In the field of education, the most significant change compared to before the pandemic was in distance education. During the epidemic, online education became widespread as schools were closed. This required students and teachers to become more adaptable to digital platforms. The use of technology increased, digital education materials were developed, and various supports were provided for students to be more effective in distance education. However, it should be taken into consideration that digital education is not equally accessible to all students, especially in rural areas, and the difficulties experienced in accessing the internet and technology.

In the field of health, the impact of the pandemic became especially evident with the strengthening of the health infrastructure and taking measures for public health. After the pandemic, the capacities of hospitals were increased, and the number of healthcare personnel and equipment were strengthened. Additionally, a national strategy for vaccination was developed, and large-scale campaigns were organized to vaccinate the population. Compared to before the pandemic, more attention was paid to public health and hygiene rules, which was an important step to control epidemics.

In the field of the economy, the liveliness and activity in the pre-pandemic period were replaced by uncertainty and economic contraction after the pandemic. During the epidemic, many businesses were forced to close, unemployment rates increased, and economic growth slowed. The government has announced various incentive and support packages to support the economy and help the affected segments. However, the economic effects of the pandemic are still being felt, and the recovery process seems to take time.

As a result, there were significant changes in the fields of education, health, and the economy in the transition from pre-pandemic to post-pandemic. While some of these changes have shown positive progress, others have been fraught with difficulties and uncertainties. However, one of the most important lessons to be learned from the pandemic process is how important it is for society to act in solidarity and cooperation. We must remember our power to overcome this difficult process together and prepare better for the future.
