Code Name: Manhattan Project

I opened my eyes and  woke up. Voices were coming, there was a war! This was the Second World War.

In the final year of Second World War, on 6 August 1945, a B-29 bomber was used for the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima in Japan. The explosion killed approximately 80.000 people ground temperatures reached 4,000°C and radioactive rain poured down.

Tens of thosuands of them would later die from exposure to radiation. It is no differenent than a disaster. After 3 days a second B-29 bomber was used as another atomic bomb on Nagasaki and  killed approximately 40.000 people. Since 1940 the united states had been working on developing an atomic weapon, after having been warned that Nazi Germany was already conducting research into nuclear weapons. While engaged in one war Europe and another in the Pacific, the United States would launch the largest scientific effort undertaken to that time. It would involve 37 installations throughout the country, more than a dozen university laboratories, and 100,100 people, including the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Arthur Holly Compton, Enrico Fermi, Richard Feynman,Ernest Lawrence, and  Harold Urey.

The first contact between the scientific community  and the U.S. government regarding atomic research was made by George B. Pegram of  Columbia University . Pegram arranged a conference between Fermi and officers of the U.S. Navy in March 1939. In July Leo Szilard and Eugene Wigner  conferred with Einstein, and the three later went to New York to meet with National Recovery Administration economist Alexander Sachs. Supported by a letter from Einstein, Sachs approached Pres. Franklin D. Rooselvet and explained the significance of nuclear fission to him. Roosevelt formed the Advisory Committee on Uranium, appointing Lyman Briggs, director of the National Bureau of Standarts, to serve as its chair. In February 1940 a fund of $6,000 was made available to begin research; by the time of its completion, the project’s budget would exceed $2 billion.

Atomic bombs cannot have any advantages for world but atomic bombs can make more problem for world like new war. If atomic bombs continue to be used, the world becomes like unhabitable. The world needs to be saved.
