Choking Truths

There was a little cute boy which named “Kai Adler”. He was trying to do the impossible, he was trying to be perfect at everything. He was trying to be good enough to make his family proud but being perfectionist made him blind, made enough blind to can’t see that someone is proud with him. But it is not his fault, it was his father’s, George’s, fault. Whenever Kai wants or asks something his father was always saying “Success first.”, even when Kai was not big enough to talk clearly. That is why Kai is perfectionist. Otherwise his mother, Carla, was thinking George’s way is wrong, she thinks “awarding children by their success” idea is totally wrong. So this was Kai’s family, a family with completely different ideas. Oh and he has a big sister called “Amelia”, I were almost forgetting to talk about her because she is always busy with something and they don’t have so much conversation except arguing. Kai sometimes even thinks his sister never exists. This was his family.

August 15th, 2021; everything started on that day. He fought with his family. It was a big fight, big enough to be kicked out of the house but his family took pity on him and called him back after 2 hours later. Kai didn’t tell the reason of the fight to anyone but he sweared to not to talk to his family ever again. His family begged to him but Kai never ever cared because Kai knew that they were not regretting their choice, they were just trying to make the “happy family” outlook. Kai thought like “I wish I could do magic which can change everything.” but it was impossible from every point of view so he will just shut his mouth and act like never happened.

Kai studied hard to get rid of his family. By the way I mean his mom and dad by “family”, not his sister, his sister may do not know the family term. Kai studied hard and he won a scholarship from a school which is at outside of the province, it was the chance, it was the opportunity of changing every small thing. Kai obviously didn’t miss this and went to that school, National Canadaian High-School. It was like a dream for him. After a few months Kai used to his new school, had some friends and made his grades better. Everything were perfect as possible.

Kai gave importance to his lessons so much at his new school because he sacrificed so much things to come this school and he couldn’t never mind the battle from now. He studied so hard, hard enough to finish school with first place for 5 years in a row. After his high-school, he went to his dream university, Medical School of Brown, with a 100% scholarship. As you all can understand Kai was a successful student but he never heard a “Well done!” from anyone. His family always ignored him, all the attention was on Amelia. Sometimes he was thinking “Am I in that family?”.

After a while Kai dropped the school because he realized he wasn’t happy, not happy at all. All those success were meaningless, everything were meaningless. He realized that he never been important to someone, even his own family. He tried a lot to ignore this truth but he couldn’t, he couldn’t because he was living with it, he was sleeping with it, he was waking up with it, he was eating his meal with it. It started to choke Kai and Kai decided to gave up from everything…
