Child Labour

Child labour refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives them of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and is mentally, physically, socially and morally harmful.
What could be more pathetic than a little boy working in the mines to earn a few bucks?Unfortunately, not every child is born under the same conditions. There are thousands of children unlucky than us. They have to work instead of going to school and having fun like we do. Thousands of children who have to work both due to living conditions and to their families…
So what can we do about this issue?
Financial and moral sanctions may be imposed on companies and factories employing child labours. For example, fines may be imposed proportional to the number of workers employed below the specified age limit. However, this sanction does not work for companies and if child workers continue to be employed, more severe sanctions should be imposed on the company. It should be said that if it is repeated, the company or factory will be closed. We can also try to make our voices heard on social media about this issue. We can make our voices heard by sharing about child labours or by showing our reaction against countries employing child labours. Or we can hold rallies about child labours.

Of course, not all children are born equal or the same. Even if our skin colors, races, countries, languages, things we love, the clothes we wear are different, we are all human first of all. Employing child labor is against human rights. If little children are working in the mines and factories instead of playing in the parks or going to school, there is a problem. According to a new report by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and UNICEF, the number of children employed as child labor has increased by 8.4 million in the last four years to 160 million worldwide(UNICEF).Children exist not to work, but to read, have fun, and live, let’s not take away their right to live, let’s not ruin their childhood. Let everything be on time, not early.
