A few days ago, I visited a newly opened café in our town called Café Haven. The name itself sounds welcoming, cheerful and I couldn’t resist to check it out. With so many coffee shops around, I was curious to see what made this one different. After spending some time there, I can confidently say that Café Haven stands out in many ways, it has innovative designs and style but there are things that could be better or need improvement.
As soon as I walked into Café Haven, I noticed the warm and cozy atmosphere. The café is decorated in a modern style, with wooden furniture and light tones that give it a natural, relaxing vibe. There are large windows that let in a lot of sunlight, which makes it feel cheerful. There’s also a small bookshelf in one corner filled with books and magazines. I loved this detail because it made the place feel inviting for people who want to enjoy a quiet afternoon with a good read. The music in the background was soft and pleasant, making it easy to chat with friends or focus on work. However, the café was a bit crowded during peak hours like noon time, and the seating area felt slightly cramped.
The menu at Café Haven offers a good variety of options. They have the usual coffee choices like lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos etc. but they also serve specialty drinks like flavored iced coffees. For tea lovers, there’s a decent selection of herbal teas. I ordered an espresso, and it was one of the best I’ve had in a while. The coffee was rich, and the bitter taste wasn’t too overpowering the actual taste of the coffee which I loved. When it comes to food, the café has a range of different options as snacks and light meals. They serve sandwiches, salads, pastries, and even vegan options which is a trend nowadays. I tried their avocado toast, which was fresh and well-prepared, though a bit overpriced for the portion size but it was worth the money because of the atmopshere. My friend ordered a chocolate croissant, and she said it was delicious. The desserts were amazing. We shared a slice of their signature cake, which was had just the right amount of sweetness as I liked. They also have gluten-free desserts, which is great for people with dietary restrictions, health issues or the ones who are on a diet.
The staff at Café Haven were friendly and welcoming. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with smiles, and the barista took the time to explain their specialty drinks when we had questions. The service was quick even though the café was busy, and the staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure customers had a good time.
That said, I noticed that the tables weren’t cleaned as promptly as they should have been. Several tables still had crumbs or used cups from previous customers. This could be improved to maintain the café’s lovely atmosphere. About the prices at Café Haven, they are slightly higher compared to other cafés in town. While I understand that the quality of food and drinks is excellent, I think the café could offer more affordable options, especially for students like me. If they had a student discount or happy hour deals, it would attract more young people.
I’m looking forward to visiting Café Haven again, perhaps during calmer time, to enjoy more of their desserts and try out other items on the menu. If you haven’t already, I suggest giving it a visit, it might just become your new favorite spot in town!
