Last week I went to our local shopping mall. While I was looking around at the LEGO store, I raised my head up only to see a huge bookstore at the rooftop! Of course, I looked around to find an entrance, but it was nowhere to be found. Then a salesman told me that it was around the corner, and I flew there right away. At first glance it didn’t seem like much, just your regular go-to bookstore, but then the second floor was it for me.
The store is called “Book and More”. The owner said he named it that way because the store combined a café and a bookstore, which meant you could eat and drink while you sat down cozily reading your brand-new book. The store’s atmosphere felt like it was one of those bookstores around the corner of a London street on a rainy evening; modern but not flashy, just right. There are a wide range of products too from the cutest pens to memorable souvenirs, offering a smooth shopping experience. The café part had to be my favorite though, there were leaves hanging from the ceiling, the chairs were comfortable and eye-catchingly designed and the lighting was just right. What I appreciated most was that each table had a built-in plug area, which is really hand especially if you are studying. The food was very good for a bookstore too, they managed to decorate the deserts fabulously.
A problem though, was that both the books and the food were quite prices. Even though the café was probably designed for students, it wasn’t the most wallet friendly bookstore I’ve been to. I understand that some products, especially the stationery, might cost more as they are imported but still, I’m pretty sure you could find them much cheaper. About the setting, being high up is great, but watching people walk around the mall is a bit weird. I would prefer the windows to face outside rather than the inside of the mall. Most importantly, the store is not complete yet, they are still repairing some parts of the shop, so I’d say it has a month or two before its finalized.
All in all, “Book and More” is a cozy book and café store which can be quite pricy but is worth it with its atmospheric experience, variety of products and delicious sweets. If you ever happen to pass by, be sure to try their tangerine cheesecake, it’s perfect!
