Biological Diversity

Biodiversity is the short term of Biological Diversity. This term is used to describe the variety of life found on our planet. It can divide into three headlines which are: genetic diversity, species diversity, ecosystem diversity.

The genetic diversity is the range of different inherited traits within species. The breeds of dogs, different variety of rose flowers are examples for it. The species diversity is the number of different species live in an ecosystem and relative abundance of each of these species. Australia’s Great Barrier Reef contains approximately 400 different types of coral species, this is an example for species diversity. Ecosystem diversity is the variety of ecosystems and habitat types. Tundra’s, rainforests and marine ecosystem are example to it.

The measurement of the loss of biodiversity keeps increasing higher and higher. The Works being done to stop this does not work well. As an example, we can give the forests. Some forests are being cut down by some of the facility workers to make furniture or some kind of construction material. But because of the trees cutting down the animals that has forest as their natural habitat are getting extinct. How much societies tries to stop this and plant trees they can’t stop it.

Marine life is in danger too. Some ships dump their fuel waste into the sea or people throw their rubbishes to sea. Which is bad for sea animals. Because it is their natural habitat and we destroy it. So, they start to get extinct. Some people try to clean beaches and sometimes governments make some adds to stop it however it doesn’t even effect. Because people don’t care.

To increase the biodiversity, we should start educate people from the young age. We should teach them not to throw their rubbishes, dump the fuel waste into the water or cut down a lot of trees. When we start to educate them earlier, they can understand and obey the rules more and they can warn their parents when they see a wrong action.

Of course, it is not possible to increase biodiversity suddenly. It will take some time to achieve success. But if everything goes right one day, we can have a world which has more genetic, specie, ecosystem diversity. Which will be a good affect for every single living thing on the Earth
