Atatürk’s Arrival in Ankara

There was a child who saw Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who came to Ankara on December 27, 1919, in a huge crowd.

The boy’s older brother found a place in the crowd and, taking his brother with him, found a place to look at the place where Ataturk would come from the best angle. His brother, whose eyes were full of excitement and pride, carried determination and hope on the face he turned towards the child. The people of Ankara were eagerly waiting for the arrival of Atatürk, whom they saw as the leader of the national struggle.

The boy in the crowd felt the enthusiasm and unity of the people around him. Flags were waving, people were screaming and applauding. This enthusiasm made that little boy’s heart beat fast. Perhaps that moment was a moment that best reflected the combined strength and determination of the Turkish nation.

Finally, a movement broke out in the crowd. A cloud of dust appeared in the distance, and this created excitement in the boy’s heart. His brother, whom he was watching with his eyes, said, “Here he comes!” yell. At that moment, the child’s heart was filled with joy. Ataturk was advancing with those around him, and the people were competing with each other to greet him.

The boy’s brother was showing respect to Ataturk with tears in his eyes. The hopeful looks of people gathered around a leader made the atmosphere of that day feel like the beginning of an epic. The boy, next to his brother, was trying to understand the importance of this historical moment. Maybe that day would be a day when, like many children, he witnessed the shaping of the future Turkey. Atatürk’s arrival in Ankara symbolized the rebirth of a nation and would remain an unforgettable moment that would leave a mark on the child’s memory.

While the sky was slowly showing the sun through the clouds, the streets of Ankara were filled with crowds. The little boy was holding his brother’s hand and trying to understand what was happening in the crowd. It must have been something everyone was excited about because people were gathered together, holding flags and screaming with joy.

The boy’s older brother was shining in the crowd, whose eyes were eager to see Ataturk. There was an atmosphere full of excitement and hope. The crowd had gathered to greet their leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, whom they saw as a beacon of hope. Many people came together to see this great leader who led the national struggle and fought for independence and freedom.

The boy could see the pride and respect on his brother’s face. His brother welcomed Atatürk’s arrival with great honor and joy. The boy caught the sparkle, patriotism(vatanseverlik) and hope in his brother’s eyes. This moment would be an unforgettable memory for many people in their history.

When Ataturk stood out from the crowd, the boy tried to stand a little higher than his older brother and try to see their leader better. While the people around Atatürk were overflowing with love and gratitude, the child’s eyes were watching this great leader in fascination.

This day, full of love and enthusiasm, would remain in the child’s memory for a lifetime. That moment symbolized the beginning of a period that strengthened the Turkish nation’s belief in the struggle for independence.

Atatürk was far away from them so they couldn’t see or listen to him that much but they never forgot the last words that Atatürk said to them:

“You younglings will grow up to be such successful and grown-up people. All you need is dedication.”
