Artificial Intelligence Everywhere

In 1764, a physicist called James Watt developed the steam engine which will then provide Industrial Revolution its foundation. With the revolution, mechanical engineering began to have a bright future. Mechanical engineers developed many technologies and in time, artificial intelligence -the use of computers or machines like human brains- has thrived.

In January 17 2023, an AI called AlphaGeometry was described. AlphaGeometry can solve some Olympiad geometry questions which are two dimensional. It was able to prove twenty five out of thirty Olympiad question statements in a correct way. This may affect the maths Olympiads but there is no artificial intelligence which solves number theory, algebra, or combinatorics. A mathematician Kevin Buzzard from Imperial College says that it might be a lot harder for computers to get equally good at solving International Mathematical Olympiad problems in other areas, such as number theory. In addition, he points out that the achievement of AlphaGeometry is still impressive.

ChatGPT is an AI which aims to create advanced language models with the ability of understanding and generating texts in a manner similar to human language. It can chat with us like a human and it can answer our questions. Some of the answers are correct while some of them are not. It’s good at language so it can be used for presenting news or translator (They are not used as translators in countries’ meetings). Now, it is just a program and does not exist as a matter in real world. If it becomes tangible, then we can see it as a personal in a company.

AIs are not good enough for being a director in a company because they cannot think like a human brain for now. But some researchers will probably develop them more and they will get better than we could think, in a short time. They are getting better in physical jobs such as mechanics, so maybe in fifteen years the mechanics will be AI’s. Also, they are good at advertising so they might work as customer services.

Some people think that AI’s will be doctors as well. But it is a fact that there is a security problem between people and AI. People usually don’t rely on artificial intelligence, and they are right. Imagine that you should have an operation and when you go to a hospital, they say that your doctor is an AI! Would you stay calm? Probably, you wouldn’t. Because an error margin would affect your life.

Would country leaders prefer translators as AI’s? They can be hacked so there might be some problems like wrong translating or recording during the secret meeting. This results in a bad way for AI’s.

In conclusion, AI’s are getting better in many topics but we don’t trust them enough. But it may be changed in years and we will see AI’s everywhere in our world.
