Let me just start by saying that this movie may be a little older than some of you reading this. However I still value it as a real classic to end the golden era and to mark the era of movie production with more advanced technology.

ARNAGGEDON (1998) was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, released by Touchstone Pictures grossing more than $550m was considered ‘rather a quite awkward movie’, having a ‘stupid’ storyline – making it seem like a ‘film not worth watching’. Which simply isnt the case here! Setting all the negative comments and opinions aside; heres the summary.
“Armageddon” (1998) is a thrilling, science fiction disaster film directed by Michael Bay, starring Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Ben Affleck. The movie centers around a group of deep-core drillers who are recruited for a daring mission to save Earth from an impending asteroid collision.
When a massive asteroid, dubbed “Matok,” is discovered on a collision course with Earth, NASA faces an insurmountable challenge. The agency decides to assemble a team of roughneck oil drillers, led by Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), to plant nuclear charges on the asteroid’s surface and break it apart before it reaches the planet.
As the team, including Harry’s daughter, Grace (Liv Tyler), prepares for their perilous journey, they face numerous obstacles, including personal conflicts, intense training, and the imminent threat of the asteroid’s impending doom. The astronauts, led by Captain Dan Truman (Billy Bob Thornton), are responsible for guiding the drillers to the asteroid and ensuring their safe return.
During the mission, the drillers encounter numerous challenges, including the harsh environment of space and the unpredictable nature of the asteroid. They must work together, overcoming their differences and personal fears, to complete their task and save humanity. Meanwhile, on Earth, governments and citizens unite in a global effort to prepare for the potential aftermath of the asteroid’s impact.
In a thrilling climax, the drillers successfully plant the nuclear charges, causing the asteroid to break apart and veer off course, averting the apocalyptic disaster. The film concludes with a sense of hope and unity, as humanity learns to appreciate the fragility of life and the importance of working together in the face of adversity.
