Are Home Offices Better?

With Covid-19 entering our lives in 2020, a new concept became popular in the working community, which is working from home. Because of the virus, almost all the workers started working from home with their laptops, computers, phones, tablets… you name it. When Covid ended, some companies switched from home to office again but some companies didn’t. And that raised a question in people’s minds: Can working from home take place of offices?

Most people say that working from home is way more comfortable than going to work at 7 in the morning.  If you don’t go anywhere to work you can actually sleep more! Another advantage of a home office is being comfortable. Because you can wear comfortable things and sit in a comfortable place for your meetings and projects maybe you can focus better and be more at peace.

On the other hand, while home office brings comfort of some sorts it can also bring disadvantages. One of the things that people struggled the most during Corona is weight gain. When a normal person has no place to go and sits more than 9 hours everyday -even if they don’t eat that much- they gain weight. On top of that, people ate so much in the pandemic! I can state stress and anxiety of being lonely as the main reason. Because of weight gain and sitting all the time most of the people had some type of health problem like backache and bad posture. There is a right way of sitting at your desk but I don’t think that there is a single soul that can sit in the same position for 9 hours. Even after the pandemic people openly talked about how working from home caused them health problems.

In my opinion if it’s a job you can do at home, you can go to your office some days and work from home the rest of the week. Both situations have positive impact so people should get the best of both worlds. Which one do you think is better? Working in the comfort of your own home or going to your office and be with other people?
