Adam’s Strange Dream

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Adam. He was a typical 14 year old with a normal life. But there was a thing that separated Adam from the other kids his age. Adam loved coffee so much. He could drink coffee all day and not even complain about it. His family was really worried about him with his caffeine addiction.

One night, when Adam was out with his friend in a cafe, he drank too much coffee. When he came home, he went to the kitchen, made a cup of coffee, and went to his room. He did his studies and projects. He was exhausted today. He wore his pajamas and went to bed. As he was about to sleep, his eyes opened wide and he couldn’t close his eyes. He couldn’t understand what was going on, but he needed to sleep. He drank a cup of hot milk, didn’t work. He tried counting sheep and other things too. Nothing could make him sleep.

While he was thinking of a way to sleep, a source of light entered his room from the open window. He was confused, and scared. The light came close to Adam and touched his head. Adam’s life passed in front of his eyes. Then, with a gentle voice, the light said “ Now sleep, Adam. You’re going to need energy for something else than thinking about a way to sleep.” Adam went to his bed, confused with a so many questions in his head.

When Adam woke up, he was somewhere else than his house. This place was filled with coffee shops, coffee fountains and rivers. He was looking for people around this place but he couldn’t find anybody.

Suddenly, he saw the light source again. The light dimmered, and a small fairy appeared. It was shining like a star. Adam said “It was you! You are the one who brought me here!”  The fairy replied: “No no no, you brought yourself here. This is the punishment of drinking too much coffee. Now your whole life is about coffee!” It laughed for a long time, then turned into light again. The light slowly disappeared, and so did the laugh. Adam was in despair. He went to a cafe and drank coffee, because that’s the only thing he could do.

Suddenly, he woke up, and understood that it was a dream. He saw the coffee mug on his desk, and remembered his dream. He didn’t have coffee after that day.
