A World With No Sunlight

A different dimension, a different universe, a different solar system, no sun… World 87 had never tasted sunlight. Depression crawling all over the residants, deficit of vital vitamins forcing them to adaptation, the people of World 87 lived a despicable life. As a result of not having sunlight Prometheus had never brought blazes of fire down to the world. This was why Homo sapiens never evolved, they had lived uncivilized for centuries until they finally found a catalyst replacing fire.

The deficit of vital vitamins, a consequence of the perpetual darkness, forced the people of World 87 to develop unique adaptations. Their bodies, in a desperate attempt to compensate for the lack of sunlight, underwent changes that allowed them to extract nutrients from alternative sources. The thorac, which is a unique element only found in World 87, adapted to subsist on unconventional forms of energy, flourished in the subdued light, providing a fragile lifeline for the struggling inhabitants. This element is also used in weapon making because of  its rough structure.

In the absence of Prometheus’ fiery gifts, the world remained untouched by the transformative power of fire. The inhabitants of World 87, devoid of the catalyst that sparked the evolution of Homo sapiens in other worlds, lived in a primitive state. They never experienced the enlightenment that came with harnessing the element of fire, and as a result, their technological progress stagnated. Howbeit they were way more developed than some of the other worlds from other dimensions.

The darkness led to some other adaptations as well. Birds with lasersighted eyes, all fish developing their very own light- just like piranhas, black plants with no chloropyll, massive creatures that would be seen as mythical in our world… These forceful organisms caused Homo sapiens to be more developed weapon wise.

A normal lifespan is about 20 to 35 years for a Homo sapiens. As they are not fully developed hunting is the main skill of their lives. Protein takes up 75 percent of their regular diet. Their weapons are able to damage or kill an enourmous organism with ease. However, their main death cause of death is depression which is caused by lack of sunlight.
