A Winter’s Dream in Iceland

The Northern Lights in Iceland are one natural marvel I hope to witness. It is very captivating to consider standing beneath a sky that is adorned with vivid pinks, purples, and greens. Since the long, dark evenings make for the ideal setting for seeing this otherworldly occurrence, I would schedule my trip during the winter. My day would start early, with the world outside covered in snow and the peaceful silence of a comfortable cottage tucked away in the Icelandic countryside. I would enjoy a hot cup of coffee while I watched the soft light of morning slowly peek over the horizon, announcing the beginning of a calm day.

I would hike past the thundering Gullfoss waterfall, explore the volcanic terrain, and relax in the tranquil waters of the Blue Lagoon while I took in Iceland’s breathtaking scenery throughout the day. To have the best view of the sky at night, I would go to a rural location far from the lights of the city. When I eventually saw the Northern Lights, I would wrap myself in a blanket and wait in anticipation, feeling as though the entire cosmos was dancing for me. It would be an experience of humility and amazement that I would always treasure.
