A Week in Turkey

Turkey has many fascinating historical and natural tourist attractions. To visit each one of them weeks would be needed. However, I prepared a lovely one week trip.

Firstly, we will be starting to our trip with Istanbul. It’s the most crowded city in Turkey and you may feel suffocated yet it will worth it. In the first day we can start with Dolmabahçe Palace, where Atatürk died. The palace is spectacular and it is a must-see place. Historical Peninsula which has The Golden Horn, Bosporus, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and Basilica Cistern which is in the top 10 historical places list of UNESCO. This trip will probably take our one and half day, in the remaning time we can visit Galata Tower and see Istanbul from above.

Secondly, we can continue our trip with Çanakkale. We can visit Gallipoli and see the locations of the Battle of Çanakkale, a very important war for Turkish people. Moreover, we can see Çanakkale Martyrs Monument. Lastly, if you are looking for and adventurous trip in the nature we can do trekking in Mount Ida on the way of Izmir and enjoy picturesque view. I have no doubt that you will have great pictures in your camera at the end of the day.

In Izmir visiting Ephesus, which is an ancient Greek city. In Ephesus you will be seeing Temple of Artemis, Ephesus Antique Theater , Library of Celsus and so much more ancient Greek architecture. In addition, Ephesus is also in a UNESCO list.

Does enjoying the stunning view of Oludeniz and swim in the sea sounds like a good idea? If yes, then our next stop is Fethiye. Nonstop travelling can make you exhausted thus, spending time in a beach all day might be relaxing.

Lastly, as we are coming to the end we will be going to Cappadocia. The city has mysterious Underground Cities and  Goreme Open Air Museum. We can stay in Cappadocia for a day in a cave hotel and in the morning we can see the fascinating view of Cappadocia from above by trying a hot balloon ride.

I hope the trip sounds exciting! Furthermore, during the trip I will be sure that you have tried Turkish delight and coffee and other traditional foods. Most importantly you will learn more about Turkey’s history, people and see the beautiful attractions.
