I always dreamed and wished there was a world where everything would work in the opposite way. Thinking about it, having no work to do for a lifetime sounded amazing. That dream turned into a nightmare when I was eight years old. This is Genevieve Hansley. And the date was… June 14, 2012. When I went to bed after my mom tucked me and my twin brother in, I tossed and turned until I was in a comfortable position, finally dozing off. I woke up inside… A void.
Things and people were floating, and so was I. I was so confused and got so scared, almost had an accident. I looked around to see floating houses, people, cars, and all kinds of junk you could’ve imagined. I really felt like the odd-one-out there because everyone there was asleep! Or maybe not even alive, or just puppets. I didn’t know what was happening; I started hyperventilating. Suddenly, everyone woke up. There were rainbows in the sky all of a sudden, and the floating objects went back to the places where they should’ve been at the first place, but the people kept floating! Even my best friend, and my twin brother, Genesis, was there. He told me to “Wake up” all of a sudden, after repeating a few times, I lurched out of bed. Thank god, this was all a bad dream! After that day, I was always more grateful for what I had.
