I find myself in the heart of Florence, in Leonardo’s workshop, in the early hours of the morning. The sky is still dark, with the first rays of the sun beginning to filter into the workshop. Leonardo is working on a canvas before him, skillfully wielding his brush to create a masterpiece. Unaware of my presence, he says, “Good morning, young friend. Today I will teach you the secrets of Renaissance art.” The sparkle in his eyes is filled with curiosity and a thirst for learning.
Throughout the day, I witness Leonardo’s unique brilliance. Whether he is painting, discussing anatomy, or sketching designs for flying machines, I feel his genius in every moment. For lunch, we share a meal prepared by Leonardo himself. During the meal, we converse about art, science, and philosophy. Leonardo’s knowledge of every subject astounds me.
In the afternoon, we return to his workshop. He has prepared a special exercise for me. Under Leonardo’s guidance, I attempt to draw a portrait of a human figure. Learning the subtleties of art — the play of light and shadow, and the principles of perspective — is a great privilege for me.
At the end of the day, we sit in Leonardo’s garden and watch the stars. He shares his thoughts with me about the meaning of life, the power of art, and the future of humanity. “People should explore the limits of their dreams, unleash their creativity, and work to make the world a better place,” he says.
This day I spent with Leonardo was an unforgettable experience. His intelligence, creativity, and wisdom deeply affected me. It changed my perspective on art, science, and humanity.
