Day by day, city life is making people busier than ever and sometimes we don’t have time for even eating. This problem causes an increase in the number of convenience food usage.
In our daily lives, we are all, and always, in a rush so having a quick meal is like a treasure for most of us. Convenience food allows you to prepare your dinner extremely easily. What attracts people most is the huge range of foods they can buy. Also being cheap has an important role on the reliance on convenience food. The packaging is also another positive effect on the sales. The packages draw peoples’, mostly children, attention and make them want to buy.
On the other hand, convenience food is not healthy. Since convenience food is a packed type of food, it needs to stay the same for a long time and in order to do that, a lot of harmful chemicals are added, which might be dangerous for some people.
Addition to these, researches show that the fats which are used in the convenience food lead to obesity, which is one of the most common health problems all around the world.
For some people, spending time in the kitchen is a way to get rid of the daily stress and for some families, they can spend their time together when they eat food cooked at home and they can even improve their family bonds by doing so.
In conclusion, convenience food both have pros and cons. I think the important thing is to balance how much people consume convenience food. If we arrange the amount of convenience food we consume, we will reduce the harms on our health and also we can save a lot of time when we do not have enough time to prepare a proper meal.
