The controversy of whether traditional or virtual games are better. In a much more broader sense, it is unlogical to even compare such opposite types of entertainment. Elders claim traditional games such as ropes, hopscotch or even just a basic game played with balls. However, it is clear that younger generations prefer video games; complex and time-consuming. And why is that? Simple, laziness. Traditional throw and catch games tend to be physical activities. Running and feeling like your heart is about to pop out of your ribs don’t seem to interest the younger ones. The benefits of such movement have proven countless times that it is worth it in the long run. However, the improvement in technology has made us more impatient and just a teeny tiny bit lazier. We don’t even need to make a new friend in real life when we have our virtual “friends”. This particularly has made us dull. With no one to improve yourselves with you are the same you, you were the day earlier. What a shame.
Though this does not mean that video games are the embodiment of pure evil. The mental improvement is impeccable. Hand-eye coordination plus improvement in reflexes can be seen on the people who play virtual games regularly. And hey, who wouldn’t like to have fun in the comforts of their home. Not only that but there are many platforms as well: mobile, computer, console, VR, and loads more. That’s not all, think of all the games you can play with them The options are endless. You can meet and play with people all around the globe. Just think of all the opportunities, its blinding.
Of course, in the end, it all comes down to you. The basic joy and genuine fun or the endless adventure? Choosing is always hard. But hey, you don’t need to if you don’t want to, it’s all fine. Both or none. The conflict may never end after all. It just seems like we forget that this is what brings us all together all caught up in the flame. No need for all this drama to split us apart. So what’s it going to be?
