Many students claimed the trip to the National Museum of Space was beneficial and helpful for the termworks; however, they found some parts overwhelming, dull and not related to the topics in the curriculum.
Pros
Some topics in the curriculum can be seen and examined in the musuem. Our tour guide knew who he was talking to and most of the time kept the information as brief as possible. The museum allowed the students try experimental equipment available in the musuem. For example, a copy of the Hubble Space Telescope, they have seen a simulation of launch to the space in Apollo 11 and a controlled a space craft on the moon. Finally, the trip ended with watching an episode of the Cosmos and some of the guides asked couple of questions just to see if the students learned something from this trip.
Cons
The responsible team about the planning of the museum did not inform us about wednesday, the day trip happened, which is the busiest day of the week. Since the museum was crowded, it was not easy to control forty eight students in a public environment. Some of the students got lost and found in the Neptune section afterwards. In the middle of the trip, our tour guide changed and the new guide gave irrelevant, not related, information till the end of the trip claimed the students.
Conclusion
Students fulfilled their termworks with the relevant information obtained from the trip. Before the next trip, we should get more information about the date of the trip due to the problems we faced during the trip.
