In the middle of that city looms the enormous Obsidian Spire, a tower filled with forgotten knowledge. Even so, lost spells and magical items are transported here by some unseen force-most likely to rare potion ingredients as well. The walls of the Spire are aglow with the muted whispers of the eager storytellers. In the interior, pools containing glimmering liquid memory enable visitors to catch a few fleeting glimpses of those overlooked pasts. Wizards that have misplaced their most powerful spells may find them in here, wishing to become embered again. 
It houses the mysterious Lantern Keepers who watch over the Memory Flames in the air. Each flame holds a part of lost magic-a forgotten tune, an unnoticed potion, or the name of a wizard lost to time. The Keepers ensure that magic is never entirely lost, guiding the wayfarers through the labyrinth of self-rewriting books and behind doors that open only to those who are genuinely lost.
