One of the most important elements for humanity to get along from past to present is communication, and a common language is necessary to ensure communication. But what is language?
Language is an oral or written communication tool that enables people to express their feelings and thoughts to the other person, to transfer cultural heritage from generation to generation and to spread information faster. In the past, as small human communities turned into tribes and tribes into countries and separated from each other, different languages are spoken between different countries today, that is, each country has its own language. When people living in the same country speak the same language, it makes it easier for them to live together and strengthens the bonds between them.Especially in recent times, the traditions, customs and cultures of many countries have been disappearing.Since the language has been in those countries since their establishment, it enables the traditions made even in the oldest times to survive to the present day. With this feature, language goes beyond being used only as a means of communication and ensures the preservation of traditions, customs and cultures that have not disappeared.Just as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said “a nation that has lost its language is doomed to extinction”, this is true because a nation that cannot protect its language correctly will not be able to communicate properly, transfer its culture correctly and spread information quickly. Countries need language in order to maintain themselves correctly, and with this feature, language determines the future of nations.Think of it this way, there is a tradition that the country has been doing since its foundation and it needs to pass it on to the next generations, but because it cannot use its language properly, it cannot pass it on to the next generations and they cannot pass it on to the next generations properly, so this tradition that has been done since time immemorial is about to disappear.
In short, since language constitutes both the past and the future of humanity, we must protect and preserve our language in the right way, because if we do not do this, we are doomed to disappear along with our language.
