Interstellar: Movie Review

Interstellar is a sci-fi movie with a spectacular plot which is hard to understand. The movie is about space and the director studied with Nobel Award winning physicists. In this review, I’ll rate this movie in three topics: visuality, actor performance, and the quality of the plot.

Since the movie is about space, the visuality is vital. So, Nobel Award winning physicists studied modelling giant structures such as black holes. Although these modelling are stunning, they are also physically and theoretically correct. I am going to specify some of these models while talking about the plot. After explaining each of the topics I’ll evaluate, I am going to rate them out of 10 and the score I give to visuality 10 out of 10.

Next topic that I will look onto it is actor performance. This topic plays a crucial role for movies. Actors make movies valuable for watching or not. Actor performances can be measured with cast quality. In Interstellar the cast includes; Matthew McConaughey, Matt Damon, Micheal Caine, Timothée Chalamet, Anne Hathaway. In this movie, casting is good but its not one of the things that makes the movie stand out. So, I give to actor performance 8 out of 10.

Lastly, the plot. Briefly the film sets in a dystopian future where humanity is embroiled in a catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humankind. One of the planets they went to in the hope of finding a new home is very close to a black hole they call Gargantua, and that’s why time moves differently there. The modelling of Gargantua is almost perfect that’s why I gave to visuality 10 out of 10. The plot depends on your interests; if you are keen on sci-fi movies, I bet it will be your favourite but if you don’t like space and science probably you will be bored. However, science and its fascinating universe is worth loving and I hope there is no one that hates science.
