The Archer

Once upon a time, there was a small village hidden in the mountains. There lived a girl named Nyx. Her biggest dream was to be the greatest archer of all eternity. Despite the fact that her whole village strongly believed that she could not achieve that, mainly because she was a girl, she wanted to prove them wrong. She wanted to show them what she could do.

She practiced day and night. She would shoot arrows with passion and concentration, letting the sounds of nature guide her aim. With each shot, she would tell herself, “There is nothing you can’t do.” As she said that, her confidence would grow.

A few months later, the kingdom where Nyx’s village was located was holding an archery competition. She was super excited to participate. The other villagers didn’t believe in her; they thought she would mess up in the first round. These thoughts of the villagers made Nyx more ambitious.

When the day of the competition came, Nyx was prepared for it more than anything. She walked to the stage with power and confidence raging inside her. As she released her first arrow, she couldn’t hear anything other than her heartbeat going crazy with excitement. Her arrow hit the bullseye. And after that, every arrow she sent flying hit the target with incredible accuracy.

In the end, the villagers understood how much she could do and felt ashamed of how much they had doubted her. To make it up to her, they cheered like they’ve never cheered before and took her for a nice dinner. Nyx forgave them, and after being alone in her life, she felt good to have friends.

After Nyx won the competition, she had inspired many village kids, and they wanted to be like her. So the villagers built many places where they could practice not only archery but many other sports.
