INTRODUCTION
This report has been written to explain the recent field trip of 10th graders to Gölcük Natural Park and its aim is to assess the effectiveness of the trip in order to recommend it to future 10th graders for their geography researchs.
THE BUS RIDE
The buses were scheduled to leave at 7.30 am, which caused many students who live far away from the school to have transportation problems because of the absence of public transport options that early. With a 2 hour delay, the buses started moving after 9.30 am. Many students claimed that even though the bus ride was quite pleasant, the lack of entertainment provided for the ride was just not enough.
THE VISIT
Every student admitted that the beauty of the site was beyond their imaginations. Not only they felt thrilled, they had the chance to observe the unusual formation of the lake and the mountain it is located on, and the view of State Guesthouse. Many commented that they enjoyed the language local tour guides were using, scatterred across the park. Students claimed that the information tour guides were giving provivded a valuable amount of information, making their researchs easier. On the other hand, however, roads which lead to the national park seem to be narrow and unmaintained and pavements which circle the lake were not clean, making hard for students to walk around.
ACCOMODATION
A hotel close to the site was reserved for our accomodation. The staff were not so friendly to us, but the food at the hotel was quite amazing, as many students suggested, this hotel was known for their nice meals. The hotel had some organisations which was dedicated to teach local cultural values. Despite several issues, like broken faucets and old beds, students enjoyed their stay at the hotel.
CONCLUSION
To sum things up, I suggest the following:
-More entertainment options should be provided.
-A better hotel should be chosen, in cases of rooms.
-Proper wear for local weather conditions
By following these suggestions, a more pleasant trip can be made.
