Is It Just One More Episode ?

Some people are obsessed with movies and TV series. They watch them when they are bored or when they have nothing to do. Especially young people are constantly watching TV series from Netflix or other sources. Mainly children say one more episode or ten more minutes and end up finishing the season. Not every kid but some kids may not be able to do chores because of their addiction of watching television. Mostly students forget their homework’s or assignments because they keep delaying when they are watching TV series or movies.

A study states that toddlers that watch television more than 2 hours a day may have behavioral problems, because the first couple years of a person’s life are very important for brain development. In some children, this behavior may surface immediately, while in some, it could come up during the later years. Some TV series, even the ones that were made for kids may have negative effects on children. Some of the experts don’t even recommend kids to watch TV series like Dora the explorer or Sesame Street before starting preschool. And that’s because cartoons or other kinds of animated TV, may desensitize kids to real-world events. Although, watching TV series at a young age helps kids improve their attention. All the sounds and colourful images on the screen appeal to children and also retain their attention, or what they are watching could be educational. At this point parents should be careful what their children are watching or how much they are watching TV. They should choose age-appropriate movies or TV series. Professors recommend limiting screen time and the types of media that children aged six or older watch. For children between the ages of two and five years, screen time should be limited to one hour a day and must only include high-quality programs.

As a summary if parents have the ability to control what their kids are watching and how much they are watching TV series or movies it can have a lot of positive aspects along with a lot of negative aspects. But we should always remember “just one more episode” is never only one episode.
