They say “Knowledge makes people unhappy”. But why would knowledge make people unhappy? Knowing something is one of the most wanted things between humans. If knowledge makes them unhappy, why would they want that? I think the knowledge we are talking about is not like math or science. It is the need to know something that people have inside them, a gossip topic could be a good example. If someone talks about that person behind their back, that person would want to know what people gossip about them. So yes, I agree with that opinion. I agree that knowledge makes people unhappy.
Knowing that you are going to die one day. People are always a little bit sad. Because every good thing has an ending. You do great things in your life, you live one of the best lives, you are the happiest person on earth. But everyone knows that all this happiness will end someday and no one is sure about what will happen next. Knowing that you are going to die makes you unhappy but not knowing what will happen next will make you even more unhappier. People are really unsatisfied. We want to know everything so it won’t make us unhappy in the future. If we don’t know it, then it makes us unhappy. But when we learn everything then there will be no time for adventure and the excitement of not knowing something. We are unhappy, in both ways.
But if we are talking about scientific things such as math and science, then knowledge wouldn’t make people unhappy. Because everyone needs to learn at least some basic information about math and science to understand how something is happening.
In summary, I think knowledge makes people unhappy. But this unhappiness is a need inside people. They can not be fully happy or fully sad. To balance their emotions, they need to feel unhappy the way they feel happy. Knowing that you are going to die someday makes you unhappy but that unhappiness is not a negative thing. To not act crazy, such as jumping off a cliff, you need to know the consequences of it even if it makes you feel sad.
