The stairs leads down to the basement of the old State Hospital

The Worst Thing That Could Have Happened

It was a cold winter night. I was sipping my hot chocolate when I heard a strange noise coming from the basement. I didn’t care at first but I was a little scared though. After a few minutes I plucked up my courage and decided to figure out what was causing this noise.

I was shaking as I came down. I knew that something awful was going to happen to me but I didn’t care. I just wanted to get this job done and go to my bed as soon as possible. That’s why I opened the door with a rush and started to go down the stairs. The stairs had rusty nails coming out of them. I tried to be cautious while I was going down. All of a sudden, I heard a shrill scream which scared me to death. I was trying to understand the things that had happened when I heard someone crying out for help. I rushed down the stairs.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I came down the stairs. There was a young girl lying on my basement covered in blood. There were several knives strikes to her abdomen and she was bleeding out so fast. I knew that paramedics wouldn’t be able to save her so I stayed at the very last moments of her life by her side while caressing her hair. She slowly started to close her eyes. After two minutes she was dead but I couldn’t stop caressing her hair. I was blaming myself for her death. I put her on a bed so she can rest peacefully. While I was putting her down, I felt like someone was watching me. Then it came to my mind that there was another intruder at my house.

I started run upstairs. I grabbed my phone and ran outside while trying to call the police but no one was answering. Suddenly the electricity went out and I heard some footsteps that were coming towards me. It was pitch black so I didn’t know if it was the intruder or someone trying to help. I started to beg that person to spare my life but then, I heard a gentle voice calling out for my name behind my back. I turned around and saw two yellow lights coming towards me, I was trying to comprehend what it was. IT WAS A CAR! It was too late move. It hit me.

The only thing I felt was a very painful headache. I started to open my eyes to find myself on the floor of my bedroom. I started crying because I thought that I was dead which now seems quite funny for some reason. After crying for a few minutes, I heard my parents’ voices. I eventually understood that it was just a nightmare!
