Horses grazing in the pasture at a horse farm in Kentucky

A Completely Different Weekend

It was a calm and normal Saturday morning as usual, but the only difference was that there was a rush in the house. Everyone was running somewhere and my mother kept scolding my little brother. I jumped out of the bed and go to the kitchen. I sat at the table and took a bite of the toast in front of me and asked my mother what was going on. My mom said sternly, just go and pack your bags, we won’t be here this weekend. I was curious about where we are going so i go back to my room and back my stuffs. After everyone was ready, we met in the car and I waited excitedly for my mother to tell me where we were going on the road. Finally, my mother said that we were going to my grandparents’ old farm and that we would spend the weekend there. After a moment of shock, I realized that I was going to spend the worst weekend of my life in my grandfather’s old house, which had no internet and smelled like cow poop.I told my mom that I didn’t want to go to the old farm, I want to spend my weekend by playing computer games and have fun with my friends not to deal with the smelly farm animals or Being stung by tons of bugs that I don’t even know their names. Anyway, no one said a word after I said this, including my mother to. After we arrived to the farm and after settling in ı go to a walk to find internet. After I walk a long way I saw a lake, but it was not an ordinary lake. This lake was shining brightly and all kinds of creatures lived in it, including swans, frogs and many other things, but the most beautiful thing was just when the sun was setting, this lake was incredible, it was so clear that I could see the bottom. Then I looked around and saw an endless hillside. It was green and clean. It looked like heaven after the fake greenery in the city center where we lived. Before I saw the beauties of the farm, I realized that I was very wrong about here and I ran home immediately. After having dinner, we went to that magnificent lake to fish with my grandfather and he told me a lot about his scholarship. The time passed so quickly, I didn’t even realize when it got dark. Sunday passed so quickly and we were getting ready to go home. I was really sad because I really liked here and I wanted to stay, I asked my mom to come here and visit my grandfather every weekend. I am already excited to come next time.
