First of all, happy 29 October Republic Day! This year is the centenary of our republic. Words are not enough to describe how happy and enthusiastic we are.. I would love to add some more thoughts about this magnificent day.
First of all, let’s take a look at the history. In the Ottoman Empire, six years after the declaration of a second constitutional monarchy, World War I broke out. The world’s leading nations participated in World War I, which began in 1914. After four years of war, the nations on our side were defeated. According to the rules of war, we are also considered defeated. Our country is shared by the British, the Greeks, the French and the Italians. Mustafa Kemal Pasha, who believed in his people and had faith, went to Samsun on May 19, 1919. He held congresses in Erzurum and Sivas. Mustafa Kemal Pasha “There is only one sovereignty, that is national sovereignty. The strength of the nation will save the country once again. he say. Harsh but worth it, right?
What would happen if there was no republic? Well, obviously it would be seriously unfair, hard, bad and all the phrases that mean something bad. To be honest there wouldn’t be equality in all fields. Women would still be seen as a maid who was made to serve and cherish man, and men would still be seen as machines who have to be productive and be paid only for looking after his family. We would probably be living under a dictatorship. Basically, it would be miserable.
Since, now we are living in a republic everyone is equal. Woman can do anything, so can men.. We have a very precious gift from Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. We have to look after our precious gift like we’ve done so far. It’s been a 100 years since Atatürk gifted us with our republic! We are so grateful! Happy 29 October everyone!
