Summer 2023

Summer is Just like a daydream to many people. Even though some people might not like it because of bugs and heat, I think it’s a wonderful season for relaxing and enjoying your time. It is also a gift of working all year nonstop.

For summer 2023, my family planned a trip to Muğla, where we own a summer house, and after that planned a boat tour to Greece Islands. It won’t be my first time going there but I surely won’t remember anything considering the fact that the last time I visited there was five years ago. So let me tell you about the details of our plans. We live in Ankara so it’s a ten-hour drive to Muğla. Every summer, the first day that we arrive is like a relaxing day from all the stress and discomfort. The next day is the big day, the first swim of the year! It usually takes us a couple hours to adjust to the water. My cousins arrive on the third day and after a week of doing water sports, staying up late to chat on the terrace, and going out to eat almost every day, we finish our classic routine. And that is when the real fun starts. Last year we rented a house in Marmaris, this year we will be visiting the Greece Islands. I am very excited because this is an opportunity that not everyone usually gets. Our plan is to visit every island and, explore the beauties of nature, which once belonged to Turkey. We will most likely spend one week there, but it will be worth it.

Every good thing comes to an end, and so does this holiday. After two weeks, my cousins will leave and we will be left alone as a family. On the first day of my cousins’ absence, I always feel empty. Nothing seems fun and everything bores me. At the end of the day, everyone leaves and you somehow have to figure out how to manage things alone. Anyways, this is my most likely summer of 2023.
