Under The Rainbow

It was a very gloomy day. There was a rain storm outside and my parents were too busy working from home so they said we couldn’t attend the Easter party that the neighborhood. It was cancelled anyway due to the rain but they didn’t let me to have fun in my friends house. I tried to have some fun with them but they basically kicked me out by saying “Sweetie, mommy and daddy are working . Go play with your toys in your room.”. I was so bored by sitting in my room and watching the rain.

After a while the bell rang. I ran to the door like I’ve been waiting for it all day. When I opened the door, to my surprise it was friends with their parents! “Hi James. We thought you’d be so bored sitting in your room all day so we decided to come cheer you up.” said Gregory. I hugged tight to Gregory and let them all in. My parents welcomed my friends parents and they all went in to the living room. While I took my friends upstairs to my room. We were 5 nine-year-olds sitting in my room. “So…” sadi Eric, “What have you been doing all day?”. I said “Nothing, to be honest. I was praying to God something exciting would happen.”. “So let’s do something exciting then” said Thomas. I immediately enlightened up and stood up. Right after I stood up it stopped raining. This boosted our confidence so much that we all went down running to ask our parents if we could go out to play. After minutes of begging they finally let us leave. We were so excited that, we left the house under 30 seconds. The sun was shining bright and after a while there was a huge rainbow. The rainbow was so big in other words it was so close. So I said “The rainbow looks pretty close, right boys?”. “Yeah, it sure is.” said Eric. “So I say let’s race till we pass it.” I said. They were all curios about it so they all said “I’m in!”. So we took our positions and in order Eric, Thomas, Gregory and I counted down. “Three”, “Two”, “One” and “Go!” I screamed. And the race has begun.

There was only 10 metres till the end of the rainbow and me. Well, all of us to be honest. They were all so fast that I was having trouble keeping the first place mine! But in the end we all crossed the rainbow at the same time and bright light covered up every where and we were transported in to a heavenly looking place. We were all so confused but the beautiful view made us forget about it. The land was covered up with bright green grass and some many multi-color flowers and some little ponds. There was even a mini waterfall! We were all fascinated but then a big gray rabbit comes towards us hopping and then he stands on it’s feet! “Hello there visitors! I wasn’t expecting anyone today. So I don’t have anything planned for you” he says. We were all stunned that he could speak! I snapped out of it and said “I think we are here by a mistake.”. “Oh! It’s okay. We could still have some fun. I believe it’s still Easter on Earth time?”. “Yeah” Thomas said. “So we can play a classic. How about a game of Egg Hunt?” We were all shocked. Our Easter party included an Egg Hunt. We were devastated that we couldn’t play, so we all agreed and we had the best play-time of our lives! Finding all the colorful hidden eggs in the bushes, under the rocks and even inside the ponds! When the game ended Thomas found 14 eggs, Eric 11, Gregory 18 and I found 9. And then the the rabbit started speaking “And like every good thing, this game has an end too. Now you’ll all go to your own universes.” and the bright light appeared again and everything suddenly went black.

When we woke up we were all laying on our garden and we looked at each other with confusion. The rainbow was gone! We all started laughing. We knew it wasn’t a dream but it was a dream-like experience. Then we stated playing hide-n-seek till our parents called us back in. We promised each other to repeat this activity the next Easter.
