Honestly, I don’t want to write another this or that article nagging about how I would like to live in the countryside and live a happy, quiet, technology-free life and grow my own food rather than pay taxes to the government. Let’s be honest, we are addicted to technology and the internet, plus we don’t even realize it. We wouldn’t be able to live without technology if we were ever in a situation like that. We are so used to getting anything right to our doorstep with just a click and spending the entire day staring at a tiny screen and scrolling until we feel like we’ve had enough entertainment for today. İts sad seeing and even firsthand experiencing what we’ve become over these years. And even though we know how unhealthy and dangerous our current state is, we wouldn’t give up this lifestyle. For example, when the news revealed that the government was spying on people through their webcams or social media accounts, no one decided to stop using social media or the internet. Our world has become a global village through globalization. That means that there are no boundaries when it comes to communication and relationships. We can connect with anyone, anywhere in the world, at any time. With technology becoming more advanced and social media becoming more popular, the global village phenomenon will only continue to grow.
But I won’t sit here and lie about how I spend my free time because it is no different from what I’ve described. And unfortunately, I enjoy this lifestyle. I relish the comfort it provides me. I like how I can have friends outside my country or buy things that are not available in my country. And I am used to reaching any information wherever at any time.
When I saw the statement ”It is better to live in the desert than to live in a global village.” I wanted to make myself look more reasonable and write about how it would be better for my mental health to live away from all the noisy parts of our world that became addicted to consensual brainwashing. But in my thought process, I realized I wouldn’t be able to do that. Even if I wanted to spend my life in an isolated desert, I am so used to this lifestyle to the point where I wouldn’t enjoy my entity, living away from all the convenience the global village supplies me.
