Lamp of the Unwanted Truth

The way he walked, he looked like someone who has been here already. In the pitch dark, he had no difficulty finding the way. Determination could be red in his eyes. It had been days without food, a great sleep or even clear water. After a few days of non-stop walking he finally reach his destination. A solid wall of stones in literally nowhere. Seemed like a dead end but somehow he found a little hole as if he put it there. By going deeper into the hole he finally ends up in a cave. It wasn’t an extraordinary cave or something. He looked like he was finally reached something. After days of walking, he decided to have a great rest for his next moves so he peacefully put his head onto a rock and fell asleep.

It was impossible to say how many hours had passed but a strong ray of light increased the visibility of the cave. He decided to move on but first had a look around. It was not likely to know where the tunnel-like cave was. The curves of the path made what could come his way unpredictable. Suddenly a high-pitched sound took his attention. When he looked up to see this sounds source he saw something. There was a writhing on the wall. The light was just in the perfect place for his great chance. It wrote something weird. So he started reading it out loud.

“Marxism is a socio-economic and political theory developed by Karl Marx in the 19th century. It uses a materialist interpretation of historical developments and is based on the idea that society is divided into two classes. One of them is the bourgeoisie, those who own capital and control production; and the other one is the proletariat or those who do not own capital but are forced to work for wages. According to Marxism, these two classes are in constant conflict with each other as they struggle for power and resources.

At its core, Marxism seeks to explain how capitalism works and why it leads to the exploitation of workers by capitalists. Marx argued that under capitalism, workers are paid only enough money to survive while capitalists reap all of the profits from their labour. This unequal distribution of wealth creates an oppressive system where workers have no control over their lives or working conditions. As a result, Marx believed that revolution was necessary for true equality between classes to be achieved.

In addition to his economic theories, Marx had strong political and philosophical views. He believed that class struggle was inevitable under capitalism because it created an unequal power structure between different social groups. He argued that this inequality could only be overcome through revolutionary action which would lead to a more just society based on collective ownership of property rather than private ownership by individuals or corporations.

Marx’s ideas were further developed by later thinkers such as Friedrich Engels who wrote about socialism as an alternative form of government which would replace capitalist systems with ones based on collective ownership of resources and democratic decision-making processes among citizens rather than rule by elites or dictatorships.
Finally, Marxist thought has been influential in many areas including economics, sociology, anthropology, history, literature, art, psychology, philosophy, politics and even religion. Its influence can be seen today in various forms such as liberation theology which uses Marxist analysis when discussing issues related to poverty; feminist theory which looks at gender oppression through a Marxist lens; critical race theory which examines racism from a structural perspective; postcolonial studies which explore colonialism’s legacy; environmental justice movements focused on ecological destruction caused by capitalist development; queer theory examining heteronormativity; disability studies looking at ableism; indigenous rights struggles against settler colonialism; anti-imperialist movements challenging US hegemony around the world; labour organizing fighting against the exploitation of workers; food sovereignty initiatives seeking local autonomy over food production systems; global justice campaigns advocating for human rights everywhere etc.

Overall Marxism provides us with powerful tools for understanding our current social reality while offering potential solutions towards creating more equitable societies free from oppression.”

Reading this he learned something new but he was fully aware that this knowledge would have no use for the rest of his journey. He stood up and whispered that this will be a long and painful journey as if there was someone he was trying to warn.

He did his last check before continuing with his path. His pockets were full of only the necessary items. So losing something would be crucial. Except for one accessory he took out of his pocket. It wasn’t working but had a religious meaning. It was an old silver clock that his mother had given him when he was just a boy, telling him to always keep it and never forget the faith that it represented. He had a great relationship with his mother. As he remembered she used to take him to the holly place every Saturday, teaching him about God and His love for all mankind. She would tell stories from the holly book and explain why they were important lessons for life. All of them were like blurred images but he was sure they were great times.

After losing that much time in such unnecessary details, he realised he needed to continue. He had a goal that is truly important to him. It was far more complicated and unrealistic for regular humans, who tried to obstruct him, to understand. He was a dreamer, a great dreamer. So he kept going. Continuing his way in the dark and narrow cave at a surprising speed. He seemed both clueless and sure of what he was doing.

He finally ended up in a weird place. There was no roof in that place. The hot and shiny rays of the sun hit on his face made him feel like he was alive. It had been 3 days since he wrote that mysterious writing. He was aimlessly walking in the dark but somehow never got lost. But it was such a boring experience it felt like years for him. After that many days underground of course the sun felt so good. Other than that the place was like an ancient place. It should be abandoned for years but the view did not give the same feeling. He could not explain it but could sense a human’s presence before him. But he was so curious to make a logical move and get out of there. He started to explore the nearly empty place and found a goldish lamp. He was sure it was the lamp he heard at the rumours. It was the lamp of the genie he was after. The genie which can make all imaginable wishes true. The genie everyone knows and wishes to find. It made everyone who met him rich they say. Finding the well-known genie was his childhood dream. He was about to cry but there was no time to waste he thought. He started rubbing the surface of the lamp in hurry but gentle way. He didn’t come this way just for anything. It was his dream.

After a few minutes of cleaning the lamp started shaking. He threw the lamp on the ground because the sudden movements of the lamp shocked him at first. It felt like another victory for him. He was both shocked and excited. And suddenly the lamp burst open and a genie appeared. It was nothing like he heard. It was impossible to see him in one frame in that cave. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that genie was nearly 10 meters long. The metallic body was also something you can’t see in your daily life. It resembled a robot from science fiction as it looks just like a regular human besides that two abnormal futures. “Finally! I was bored while waiting for you sir.” ıt said. Its voice is deep and powerful, yet gentle and soothing at the same time. “I have a ton of things to tell you.”.

To tell him? He didn’t understand at first. “Didn’t you the genie who makes people’s wishes come true? Oh yes, yes I got it. You will tell me the rules. Sorry for my attitude I am a bit excited you know. It’s been weeks since I started this journey. I finally reached you and you can’t imagine how excited I am. I can’t even know what to say and…”. His voice was suppressed by the powerful voice of the genie. “I am not the genie you are looking for; I am the one whom you are supposed to meet.”. He was shocked, the genie whom I was supposed to meet was the only thing he could ask but before he found a chance to speak, the genie started talking. “Why do we waste time? It’s better to start early if you want it to finish sooner.” “Who are you? What are you? Why do I…” he couldn’t even finish his sentence. It was his last sentence for a long time but he was not lucky enough to ask it. “I am the genie of knowledge and you are sentenced to listen to as many things as you possibly can.” This was the beginning, the beginning of the end.

“Human evolution is the process by which humans have changed over time. It is part of the larger evolutionary history of life on Earth, beginning with the emergence of primates from other animals more than 65 million years ago. Our species, Homo sapiens, first appeared in Africa about 300,000 years ago. Over the last several thousand years, humans have spread to every corner of the planet and developed a wide variety of cultures and technologies.

Humans are members of the primate family, which includes such animals as monkeys, apes, and lemurs. Like these other primates, they share a common ancestor that lived in Africa about seven million years ago. This common ancestor was probably a small tree-dwelling animal with grasping hands and feet as well as eyes that were placed close together on its face. Over millions of years, this animal evolved into various species that eventually gave rise to modern humans and their closest living relatives, chimpanzees and bonobos.

The earliest members of the human family had bodies that were adapted for climbing trees and walking upright on two legs. They also had brains that were larger than those of their primate ancestors. They developed tools to help them survive in their new environment. By around 250,000 years ago, Homo sapiens had emerged as a distinct species with the ability to create complex stone tools and use language to communicate thoughts and ideas.

Over the course of hundreds of thousands of years, their ancestors spread out from Africa into Asia and Europe. During this time, they encountered numerous environmental challenges that forced them to adapt to survive. These adaptations included changes in body shape, such as shorter legs for cold climates, as well as technological innovations like clothing to protect against cold weather. As they moved into new environments they also encountered different plants and animals which they used for food or domesticated for their purposes.

By 10,000 BC many human societies had begun practising agriculture, which allowed them to settle down in one location instead of constantly moving as hunter-gatherers had done before them. This led to further cultural advances such as pottery making, writing systems, metallurgy, religion etc. The development of cities also allowed humans to form large-scale governments with powerful rulers who could organize large projects like irrigation systems or military campaigns.

One of the most important developments during this period was the invention of writing around 3200 BC, which allowed people to record their stories and ideas, which could then be passed down through generations without being forgotten or changed by oral tradition alone. This made communication between distant peoples possible by allowing messages to travel quickly across large distances through written texts like letters or books. This eventually led to further advances such as mathematics, science, philosophy, literature, music etc., which helped shape societies today.

Throughout all these changes humans have maintained many features that can be traced back millions of years within our evolutionary past although some instances like strength. We are still evolving but more slowly as environmental pressures no longer play a major role.

To sum up, human evolution has been an incredibly long journey filled with both successes & hardships but it provides us with insight into how our species has been shaped over time & how far we’ve come since our humble beginnings.”

What was that? Why did he just tell all of these? He was shocked. Why would a lamp genie just know that? Genie used first person view but he is not even a human? He couldn’t understand, there were a lot of questions that needed to be answered but before he could even open his mouth the genie started again. “Did you like it? Guess what, there are more of it where it comes from!”

“Recep İvedik is a Turkish comedy movie franchise which was first staged in 2008. Since then the series continued and recently the last movie ‘Recep İvedik 7’ is released. However, as the series continues movies get worst and worst. The jokes became less and less entertaining.  Not only people already having controversial opinions on the series but also it started to lose its main target audience.

Recep İvedik 1, Recep İvedik 2 and Recep İvedik3 were built on a similar theme. The theme is also used by Kemal Sunal in the “Şaban” character, which is one of the best characters in the Turkish comedy industry. The similarity was obvious most people didn’t have trouble recognizing it. Both had a protagonist who could never fit in that situation and an antagonist who resembles authority and the seriousness of the situation. Şaban, the unfitting protagonist and Şener Şen (generally the roles he plays), the authority character.

The reason those films were successful was not the jokes but where those jokes happened. To be more clear it’s not the action that makes it funny but the time and the characters. When Şaban sleeps in war while everyone else is stressed for their lives, sweating and ready for the fight, the absurdness of the situation makes it funny. The same goes on for when we saw politicians fall we found it funny because the images they created in our minds don’t match with the action. In addition to that, some well-known psychologists say that we are more likely to laugh when we saw something on the screen that we couldn’t do.

In the series, Recep İvedik was a rude, disrespectful, uneducated guy. The way he talks and acts could be recognised anywhere. He didn’t fit in. He was “Şaban” in this case. When he meets someone who a high-rated, wealthy or even from different culture, he stood out. When he does some irritating things in front of those people it could make the audience laugh. The main structure of this comedy type was well formed in those films and with a fine storyline the franchise become successful.

The main stricter didn’t last long. The main comedy structure changed from the place and timing of the action to only the action. The storyline started to become more absurd and unbearable as the series continued. Franchises become more like a joke rather than a great comedy name. It started good but didn’t end as it should be.”

What was the Recep İvedik thing? The reality became less and less real to him. What did he do to deserve this torture? He was sure that he wouldn’t have time to ask any of these. As he thought genie took a great breath and started talking again. “I will answer some of your questions of course but first let me finish this.” Answer? He didn’t think he would be able to ask anything. Even though he just tried 2 times he was given up on hope already. Need for answers… The only thing that keeps him is listening to genie again.

“James “Whitey” Bulger is an infamous American criminal who was born on September 3, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts. He had a troubled childhood and ran away from home at age 14 to join a gang of petty criminals. After serving time in federal prison for bank robbery and hijacking, he eventually became one of the most feared gangsters in Boston.

Bulger’s criminal career began in the 1950s when he joined the Killeen Gang, a group of Irish-American criminals based out of South Boston. Bulger quickly rose through the ranks to become a leader in the group, earning himself the nickname “Whitey” due to his blonde hair. He was arrested the first time when he was 14 years old because of stealing. But then he decided to join the Air Force at 21 but because of his violent nature his career last only 3 years. After returning he continued his life as a criminal.

In 1956 he was arrested and sent to a federal prison just to be transferred to Alcatraz prison because of armed robbery and truck hijacking. In prison, he was offered an agreement by the CIA that if he agrees to take a part in research, his jail time would be reduced. What seemed like a great agreement for him was poorly explained and the research that he agreed on was the MK-ULTRA, also known as the CIA’s mind control project.

MK-ULTRA was a project where the subjects faced every possible torture and drug combination to become puppet-like killers. The main goal was to create a “Manchurian Candidate” who kills on command without hesitation and forgets about it after a few munites. The project first started because of the rumours the Soviet Union found mind control. The subject was everyone whom the CIA found, like their own officers, mentally ill patients and criminals.

After agreeing with the Whitey about taking part in research for “medicine for schizophrenia” he faced countless physical and psychological torture. He described it as “Depths of insanity”. After serving 9 years in prison he was finally let free. He was not the same person anymore, he was a ruthless killer.

He used violence and intimidation to gain control over the local drug market and extort money from businesses operating in South Boston. He had control but they had a rival. The Italian mafia. But the Italian mafia was not only there but also the FBI’s top priority. So they agreed with Whitey to become their informant. No one is as dirty as him and has a great rating in most rival gangs. Whitey was the best pick.

Whitey was arrested numerous times throughout his criminal career but each time managed to avoid serious jail time or conviction due to his connections with law enforcement agencies. In 1975, he was indicted on charges related to illegal gambling but again managed to evade prosecution by becoming an informant for another law enforcement agency.

In 1995, Bulger went into hiding after learning that he was about to be indicted on racketeering charges related to organized crime activities in South Boston. During his 16 years as a fugitive, Whitey remained active in organized crime and laundered millions of dollars through offshore bank accounts. He was eventually captured in 2011 after living abroad for several years under an assumed identity.

At trial, Bulger was found guilty of 19 counts of murder, extortion and money laundering and sentenced to two life terms plus five years without parole for his crimes. Since then, he has been held at various federal prisons across the country where he has been denied visits from family members due to security concerns over his past ties with organized crime groups and law enforcement agencies.,

Despite being behind bars since 2011, Bulger remains one of America’s most notorious criminals who continue to fascinate both true-crime aficionados and casual observers alike with stories about his decades-long run from justice as well as tales about his life as a mob boss controlling parts of Boston’s underworld during its heyday.”

Finally, it was over for now. The questions finally can be asked. He was a bit anxious but there was no time to waste. He was curious about many things happening right now but decided to ask why he had to listen to all of this first. “You were here before, didn’t you remember?” said the genie. “A curious man who wanted to know anything. It is funny to see you again this quickly.”. What man? Did he been here before? How can even this be possible? “It won’t be right to continue without giving more info. I don’t know how to place it into the story without it being absurd. So just give me one more chance before I continue to answer your questions.”. “What sto…”.

“The idea that the sum of the angles on a triangle always equals 180 degrees is a widely accepted mathematical truth. However, this rule does not apply to all triangles. In some cases, the sum of the angles on a triangle can be more or less than 180 degrees. This phenomenon is known as non-Euclidean geometry and it is an important concept in mathematics and other fields of study.

In Euclidean geometry, three points must be connected to form a triangle. The internal angles of these triangles will always add up to 180 degrees due to the properties of straight lines and circles being equal in length and angle measurements. This means that if you draw three lines between three points, they will always create a triangle with interior angles that add up to 180 degrees.

However, non-Euclidean geometry changes this rule by introducing curved surfaces such as spheres or cylinders into the equation. When dealing with curved surfaces, straight lines don’t necessarily exist any longer because they cannot travel in two directions at once; instead, they travel along curves which produce different angles at different points. As a result, when constructing triangles on curved surfaces such as spheres or cylinders, the sum of the interior angles may not equal 180 degrees anymore because each angle is measured differently due to its direction relative to other points on the surface.

For example, imagine drawing three lines between three points on a sphere—the resulting shape would be similar to an equilateral triangle but it would not have interior angles that total 180 degrees because each line would curve around the sphere in various directions depending on where it was drawn from and how far it travelled before reaching its destination point. Instead of having interior angles that add up to exactly 180 degrees like an equilateral triangle does in Euclidean geometry, this “triangle” might have interior angles that add up to something slightly higher or lower than 180 degrees depending on how large or small it was and what paths were taken by its sides when connecting its points.

The concept of non-Euclidean geometry has been studied extensively by mathematicians throughout history and has been used in various scientific fields such as astronomy and physics because understanding how shapes behave differently under varying conditions can help researchers better understand our universe more accurately. Non-Euclidean geometry also plays an important role in theoretical mathematics since it provides insight into concepts such as infinity which are essential for furthering our knowledge about mathematics beyond basic algebraic equations and geometric shapes.

Most of the population had learned that all triangles have interior angle sums equal to 180 degrees, but there is another type of geometry known as non-Euclidean geometry which allows for triangles with different angle sums due to their construction on curved surfaces like spheres or cylinders instead of flat planes like those found in normal Euclidean geometry. It is an incredibly important concept for mathematicians studying advanced topics such as infinity since it provides insight into how shapes behave differently under varying conditions which can help them better understand complex mathematical problems beyond basic algebraic equations or geometric shapes.”

“The Birthday Paradox is the counterintuitive phenomenon that in a group of just 23 randomly chosen people, there is a 50% chance two or more share the same birthday. The paradox comes from the fact that this probability grows exponentially with only small increases in the number of people included in the group.

The concept of the Birthday Paradox was first proposed by mathematician Richard von Mises in 1920 and later developed by mathematicians John L. van Neumann and Marshall Hall Jr. It has since been used to analyse trends and patterns in many areas such as computer science, cryptography, and coding theory.

This paradox can be explained mathematically using probability theory. To find the probability that at least two people share a birthday, we take 1 minus the probability that no one shares a birthday (which is 365/365 x 364/365 x 363/365 x 362/365… up to n-1/365).

For example, if we have 20 people in our group, then our equation looks like this: P = 1- (365/365) × (364/365) × … (346/366). This simplifies to approximately 0.5 or 50%, which means there is a 50% chance at least two people will have the same birthday 20 randomly chosen individuals.

Interestingly, this probability increases rapidly for very small changes in sample size. For instance, if we were to increase our sample size from 20 to 23 individuals, then our equation would look like this: P = 1- (365/365) × (364/366) × … (343/366). This simplifies to approximately 0.7 or 70%, meaning there is now a 70% chance two or more people will share a birthday.”

“Didn’t you remember me? Or this place even?” He didn’t really remember the place. But when he looks around it felt oddly similar. He realised he didn’t really look around since he was too busy with the genie and the lamp. The cave started to seem more and more similar. As if he had been here for a long time before. He started remembering more details. He neither had a difficult time finding it nor understanding it was the true one. “Do you remember anything about yourself before you started this journey?”. What an idiotic question! Of course, he did. His hands checked his pockets even before he say anything. The clock was there. “Do you know why you have it with you?”. He knew it was his mother’s clock but before he had a chance to speak the genie started speaking again. “Your mother died, because of you.”

“Who was she? Did you even remember her name or even how she looked? Let me guess you don’t.”. He must be lying! How could someone forget their one and only mother? It was impossible but when he actually tried to remember he realised how correct the genie was. There were no memories of them except some blurred ones. He did his best but how hard he tried he couldn’t find any clear memory of anything. He tried the basics, but there was no hope. He was feeling guilty about how he couldn’t remember his mother’s name but… What was his name? The body that his soul was trapped in started feeling like a cage. He couldn’t be able to answer even the most basic questions about himself.

The identity crisis he was inside even made him forget about the genie. The sudden voice of the genie took him back to reality before it become too late. “You have already used your wishes. Your basic human mind couldn’t comprehend your wish. You were the curious one but you wanted more than you can handle.”. He had already enough in his mind and with every sentence, the genie forms his mind felt like it was going to explode. “You wasted your wishes and you couldn’t live after realising this mistake, you said. You had the easiest job but you couldn’t even succeed in it. You were a disappointment and you realised that very well and used your last wish for forgetting anything and made me promise as you did not want to live this life in such a miserable way. I was only doing my job and you ruined your life with your own hands and you yet come here again.”.

He was stunned. At this point, he couldn’t think or even move. What he could say anyways. Even if he was lying there was nothing he could do to prove otherwise. “You could have wanted just your mother to be fine. Wasn’t it your first priority? But yet you used your wishes for only yourself. It was too late when you realised. The murderer of her was your self-centred behaviour, your ego. You neither had to know everything nor be the smartest. You forgot about it until it was too late. I can’t bring back the dead but you could save her. Now I am just making your last wish true. You will be going to hate every and any second of learning as you come here again. I am the genie you wished not you were looking for.”
