The Coffee Shop

I was walking to the cozy little coffee shop next to my school. It was my favorite place in the world. It was peaceful, smelled like coffee beans, warm and always had comforting music playing in the background. Not to mention the really pretty barista guy. He was tall, brunette locks framing his face, pretty brown eyes, long lashes, a beauty mark right under his left eye, a gorgeous smile, and a mesmerizing laugh. It was like he was straight out of a fairytale. Too beautiful to be real that I had to check four or five times to be sure when i first saw him. Other than the cute barista, the shop made great cheesecake and pies. I loved sweets so it was the perfect place for a single teenage girl like me. I always went there to relax, study, do some homework or whenever i craved something delicious.

But today my intention was to clear my head. After the terrible exam today my brain was malfunctioning and i needed some time for myself. It was one of the hardest exams I’ve ever taken and I haven’t had much time to prepare for it. I didn’t want to disappoint my teachers or my family. But that moment I didn’t want to think about any of that. All I wanted to do was to listen to some music, drink a mug of my favorite coffee and eat some oreo cheesecake. As I arrived at my holy place my breathing got steadier and i felt better. Just seeing the shop from afar made me relax.

I stepped inside and was welcomed by the prettiest smile in the whole wide world. I smiled and waved, my cheeks tinted pink. I was kind of a regular here so we could say he knew me. He waved back as I sat at the table I always sat right by the window at the very back of the shop. The lights were dimmer there so it was mostly empty and quieter. I loved being here. And now that it was the golden hour the beams of sunlight were dancing on the walls, creating a beautiful view. I ordered my usual coffee and cheesecake and started gazing out the window.

When i received my mug there was a cute cat drawn carefully on the foam and it looked adorable. I turned to look at the guy, I so desperately wanted to know the name of, and he was looking right back at me. I was almost going to choke on my spit, trying to swallow when he winked at me. He was so cute i could die. I left my jacket and purse at the table and went for the bathroom to cool of before i embarrassed myself. I splashed myself with cool water and returned.

Even though i couldn’t muster up the courage to ask the name of the cute barista I had a great time watching him and trying to make it look like i wasn’t watching him. When i realized it was getting late i picked up my things and went out. It was a nice and relaxing trip to the coffee shop but i had to get to my dorm before curfew. When i put my hand in the pocket of my jacket i found i crumbled paper that wasn’t there before. When i took it out it read: “Call me!” and there was a phone number on it. My cheeks turned bright red as i looked back at the guy from the shop window. He wasn’t looking at me but there was a grin on his face that meant he knew I was looking at him. A silly smile found its way onto my face as I started to walk to my dorm again. Maybe I’ll get to talk to him sooner than expected..
