Urban or Rural Areas?

Living in a small quiet place has so many benefits to your health and wealth. Especially for your health, living rurally can decrease stress levels, help lessen mood disorders, and increase dopamine levels. We all experience stress from time to time, but one of the great benefits of living rurally is that you’ll have calm, peaceful surroundings that help you balance out stress levels and live a more serene life. Living a rural lifestyle is much cheaper than living in an urban area. Rural homes are often less expensive because they are in less desirable and populated areas. This also has a big role in people moving to rural areas. Overall you may find yourself happier and healthier.

Despite all the facts about rural areas I would like to live my adult life in a metropolis. Cities appeal to me because of a lot of different reasons. Some of these are: Improved public transport, medical treatment, job opportunities, better education systems and easy access to shops and different facilities. Starting with public transportation systems, it is better for people to live in urban areas because urban areas offer more convenient public transportation systems. With a convenient transportation system I would never have to worry about being late or early to somewhere. While using transportation systems I can also save money to buy a car before my 30s. Cities have more medical services compared to the rural areas, which means that city residents can immediately get medical treatment if they get sick or hurt. Rural areas have fewer hospitals, resulting in people who live in the countryside needing to travel for a long time to see doctors if they need medical treatment, which can be dangerous for patients. Cities provide more high quality education and job opportunities because most schools and corporations are located in cities rather than the countryside. The large number of entertainment sources in cities allows citizens to enjoy more forms of refreshments such as going to shopping malls, watching movies, and going to restourants. Also, big cities often have the opportunity for residents to interact face to face with others. However, compared to urban areas, people who live in rural areas have only a few books and TV to spend their leisure time.

Having good places to entertain myself is the biggest reason why I would like to spend my adult life in urban areas. Entertainment, socialising and having fun has a big role in my happiness and mental health so the place I live in should be entertaining.
