The Optimal Farm Life

So, you have decided that you want to live in a farm. Exotic choice if I do say so myself. There are so many other things in life to do but you’ve chosen to live on a farm. Well, there are some guiding principles that you could follow that would result in you living your best life even though you live in a farm. I can assure you that these principles would be the exact same things I would do if I was in your situation. So, let’s go over them. Shall we ?

1. Maintain a tight budget

Don’t forget from now on you’re a farmer. No more monthly wages, no more raises from your boss when you perform well in short no more guarantee of a stable life. You are completely dependent on your environment and Mother Nature. And nature is unpredictable! You might earn quite a lot some seasons and only measly amounts other seasons depending on weather conditions, humidity, crop genetics etc. You need to be prepared for these types of conditions. Keep track of your income and spending. Think to yourself : Do I really need that new farming equipment? or how about all that land you’re not using? To be able withstand budget problems you need to budget both work and individual expenses.
2.Get on well with your family
There’s nothing worse than being in farm house with a family which doesn’t speak to each other. This is the countryside. There’s nothing but thousands of miles of crops and animal pastures. So unlike the city you’re not able blow of steam with friends away from your family. From this point onwards your family is all that you have. Value and respect them. Teach that a farm family doesn’t have the luxury of not getting along, remind that if you all want to survive everyone has a job to do and everyone depends on everyone else’s job to be done correctly. This advice is suitable not only farm families but every family. Don’t forget that they are the only family that you have.
3.Diversify your income
Living a farm life doesn’t automatically mean living a wealth free life. Lots of people made very good money by using this advice. The secret is to diversify your income in to many different streams. You should be reinvesting at least 40-50% of your yearly profits back in to the farm. The first thing you should do before anything else is trying to become as self sufficient as possible. You should aim to get 100% of your electricity and water from your environment. To achieve this you install solar panels on the roof of your building, small wind farms to collect extra energy, rain water collectors etc. The more of these you install the better. After you achieve this step you need find a way of earning. Get creative with this one maybe rent some land grow exotic and trending foods
,open a petting zoo etc. There is good money in these fields.

By following this steps you won’t merely survive in farm conditions, you’ll thrive.
