Trade Pain For Gain

I’d say you’ve probably seen one of those motivational quotes going ‘Get up and WORK!’ The path to success is full of pain and agony and injury and suffering and sorrow!”, but are those true at all? I really don’t think so.

Living worse to live better just doesn’t make any sense to me. Imagine having to suffer waking up at the ungodly hour of 6 am, working out, having some dumb protein meal and working your 12 hour shift for the rest of the day as a “routine”, only to be hardly any stronger than the average person and make $4 an hour. That doesn’t feel like success, does it?

I think success is when you’re happy with where you are and just sustainable enough to make a living. Not forcing yourself to wake up super early and suffering for the entirety of your day to feel better than others. You don’t even have to leave your comfort zone to be productive. There’s just not one reason to shorten your lifespan just to get jacked and make a lot of money.

In short, people who say that the only way to be successful in life is to suffer all day are very wrong. Don’t do things that will hurt your mental health just because society will be more accepting of you.
