As we all know scientists work to discover or invent new things. Scientists think these discoveries and inventions will be better for humanity the scientists say that, yes even if they are saying like that sometimes they could be wrong about their own inventions.
I am sure they are not doing all these inventions with concealed thought. Although scientists are not doing that with an ulterior motive, people can use these inventions or discoveries maliciously. There are many examples that can be given to that issue. For example, Albert Einstein discovered atoms could be split, and then people use that method to do atomic bombs. There is also another case like the discovery of gunpowder. Chinese alchemist of the Tang Dynasty who has invented gunpowder. He thought his discovery will be good for humanity until people are used his discovery to make dynamites.
What if scientists have developed a machine that can interpret human thoughts into speech. I strongly believe that they would find a way to abuse this as they abuse all inventions. I assure you people going to do that. Even though it has good sides, it has more bad ways than good sides. I can guess the questions in your mind. How they could use that invention in a bad way. For instance, if people use this machine without their permission to find out the thoughts they want to keep secret, it’s a way of misusing that machine. This was just a small example, this machine can be used in a more harmful way than in this example, for example, this machine can learn the documents kept secret by the states or the thoughts of the people in high positions in the states and people can abuse it, inter-country or civil wars may break out or even world wars.
To sum up, some things should be kept secret for the good of humanity, and all kinds of uses should be considered and used or precautions should be taken while making such inventions. In short, such inventions can have bad consequences.
