Do You Like Taking Risks?

Some people believe that nuclear power is the best energy source in the world. They says probability of a leakage is low. But some people do not think like that. They think that nuclear power is the most dangerous energy source. Although the probability of leakage is low, when that possibility occurs, it is the absolute death for all things, they claim. Is it worth risking the lives of all living things to get a few extra energy?

 

Is nuclear power is safe? Probably not, they say. Maybe because of the accidents happened back in the time. For instance Chernobyl accident. It was a normal nuclear power plant. Then a nuclear accident occurred. This nuclear accident caused 4 thousand to 93 thousand to die. But according to some independent studies, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster caused approximately 200,000 deaths directly or indirectly. Another example of this, is Fukushima nuclear disaster. It occurred at Fukushima Daiiche Nuclear Power Plant. It was triggered by earthquake and tsunami. It was classified as Level 7 on the International Nuclear Event Scale (INES). More than two thousand people died in that accident. The probability of leakage is low but it does not mean it is 0.

People who think nuclear power is unreliable are self-contradictory. The numbers says exactly opposite. It has more than 330 times fewer deaths than coal; 250 times less than oil; and 38 times fewer than gas. Also nuclear power is the cleanest energy source. It is zero-emission clean source. It generates power through fission, which is the process of splitting uranium atoms to produce energy. The heat released by fission is used to create steam that spins a turbine to generate electricity without the harmful by products emitted by fossil fuels.

“The probability of leakage is low, when that possibility occurs, it is the absolute death for all things“ This is a correct statement. But if we take enough caution, nuclear energy will be the best option to produce some energy.
