In your opinion, should the number of prisons in countries be increased in order to prevent these crime rates, or should new laws be enacted to prevent these crimes? If you ask me, it makes more sense to pass laws to prevent them from committing these crimes than to send people to prison. However, there will be people who continue to commit these crimes despite these laws. To prevent this, people can be sent to prison according to the time they deserve.
