The Human Limit

Since the day we were born we have had an urge to crave for something we desire. We have an endless stream of wants and urges that we want them to happen. Sometimes we fulfill these wants/urges but if we don’t fulfill them they become hollow and in time we forget their existence.

It is not unusual for us to work towards something we want and crave for in order to achieve it, but some people tend to disagree with this idea. People often use Murphy’s words to best explain this, which are “The probability of something happening is inversely proportional to the probability of wanting it” but I completely disagree with this idea. I think people that set out to achieve their desires succeed in the end.

There are many factors that will lead to someone’s wish happening, but one of the leading factors is the effort and dedication someone puts toward that wish in order to make it happen no matter what. This is the Law of Attraction, it states “When you truly want something and go after it without limiting yourself with disbelief, the universe will make it happen!” Of course this is a bit overboard, but it helps to understand the idea behind the thought process. What this statement is trying to explain is that if we don’t limit ourselves with disbelief and other emotions that might get in our way, we will succeed no matter what. Many examples may be given to this, for example the light bulb took over 1000 tries to make but Edison never gave up, and later he stated “I didn’t fail 1000 times, the light bulb was an invention with a 1000 steps.”

Law of Attraction is definitely a more optimistic outlook compared to Murphy’s thoughts, but it doesn’t stop it from relating to the Murphy Law. The Murphy Law states “If things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance.” and it relates to the Law of Attraction in the sense that if one is trying to achieve a goal with an impure or incomplete dedication, they will ultimately fail and in the end they will be watching what is left of their effort crumble before their eyes.

Overall, my opinion on this matter is that if a person wants something it directly corresponds to the effort they put into achieving that wish or desire. Of course there might be many obstacles that will try to stop them, whether they are emotions or problems which are out of one’s control, but in the words of Kentaro Miura “If I have to worry about the ants I crush beneath my feet, I couldn’t even walk around.” This once again shows if we bother ourselves with insignificant details, we won’t be able to achieve anything we want.
