Repercussions of Noise Pollution

Do you think that is it possible to completely stop noise pollution? Noise pollution is a type of pollution that we cannot see, but we can hear and see its consequences on human health and on environmental life. Noise pollution or sound pollution is considered to be any disturbing sound that affects the health and well-being of humans and, of course, other organisms.

The beginning of noise pollution depends on the 1970s. In America, the government published The Noise Control Act (NCA) in 1972 in order to reduce unwanted sound coming from vehicles. After time because of the development of technology, sound pollution has increased and other countries have published their acts. Noise pollution is not a type of pollution that may end with laws, acts, or punishments. As the population and technology grow, we will continue to expose to all disturbing sounds. For example, one actual way to reduce noise is using electric vehicles or bicycles. It is helpful for nature and our ears. Another way is instead of filtering our ears (using earplugs) we can filter the propellers of the planes. Third, we should plant as many trees as we can because they have an enormous surface area including their stem, leaves etc. it absorbs the sound much.

It’s an obvious fact that so much noise is harmful to human health and also environmental life  (+100Hz and +85dB) and continues not to produce solutions for the sound pollution we will see major damages all around the world. Noise pollution affects millions of people daily. There are many health problems caused by noise pollution, and the most common one is Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). Extremely loud also; affect concentration, anxiety, physical and psychological health too much. Increasing noise is not only affecting human beings’ health, it affects animals. For example, some studies show that in noisy areas most of the animals cannot reproduce properly, because for them sound is a signal of danger. As well as we think it is harmful to the animals that live inland, but it is also an enormous threat to marine life. Whales and dolphins (marine mammals) rely on echolocation to communicate, navigate, feed and find mates and noise affect their ability negatively.

In conclusion, noise pollution is a big threat to the world. We cannot stop it in a short term. However, we can reduce it. Here I want to say that taking precautions is not enough to fight noise pollution. We have to produce solutions for this invisible danger; I mentioned some solutions which will help be really helpful for the world.
