Sport Or Murder

Since the beginning of time, humans have needed animals for nutrition and clothing. A long time ago, animals were the only solution to the daily difficulties they faced. Since they didn’t have clothes, they used animals’ fur to survive. They didn’t know agriculture therefore they needed their meat and milk to stay alive. In the 21st century, we do agriculture and we have clothes thanks to the discovery of fabric. Do we really depend on and need animals?

Beyond nutrition and clothing, people are killing them and considering it a “sport”. According to Brittanica, Hunting is a sport that involves the seeking, pursuing, and killing of wild animals and birds, called game and game birds, primarily in modern times with firearms but also with bow and arrow.

In 2017, more than 15 million people participated in hunting. That means a vast number of animals were murdered. But thankfully, this number was seen to decrease in the following years.

Every year, innocent animals are being murdered for the joy of selfish these hunters. They either benefit from them as money or as collections.

If the world was a place where animals were people and people were animals, this would have been considered genocide. In the real world, animals are seen as undeveloped creatures that depend on us. But it is the complete opposite.

Animals create biodiversity on Earth which is needed for the cycle of nature. Scientists state that, without animals, we won’t be able to survive more than 50 years. Animals are needed for pollination and the dispersion of seeds. Without trees and plants, our lives would be meaningless.

Hunting shouldn’t be considered a sport. Sport is something that people benefit from for their physical and mental health. An environment where innocent animals are killed is nothing but a crime scene.

In recent years, more people have come to the realization that we depend on animals and we need to protect them. Just like us humans, they are individuals and deserve to be protected by a set of rights. Hopefully, in the future, hunting is banned and animals are treated as independent creatures.

To sum up, hunting cannot be a sport. Nothing is considered a sport if it harms other creatures. Humans are no gods and can’t make decisions on behalf of the human race.
