For centuries, books have been a part of any individuals life. Before technology, books were a go-to when searching for information. They still are, but a new type of book is popular these days.
Ebooks, a tablet-like book that can be carried wherever you go. After purchasing new books, you can carry hundreds with you. They are very compact and light-weight which enables them to be carried very effortlessly. If you are someone who is constantly travelling, this invention is the thing you might be asking for your next birthday.
On the other hand, we have our trustworthy printed books. The most common type. Paper books give a different type of energy to the reader. Since nearly everything in our daily lives are based on technology, normal books are an escape for many people. It gives a nostalgic feeling to the reader. Going to the library and searching for books is a different activity. In addition, there are many collectors of paper books. They can last centuries if they are well cared for.
Both books have their own pros and cons. It depends on the person’s lifestyle when it comes to choosing. Someone busy might prefer an Ebook since it’ll be easier to access. On the other hand, someone who has more of a laid-back lifestyle can have a hobby of collecting books and going to libraries.
Ebooks are expensive, technological and can die without electricity, books are made of paper which causes trees to be cut down. In the future, there is a chance that we’ll all be using ebooks. Libraries are in danger with the existence of ebooks.
As a reader of paper books, I see the chance of libraries disappearing. People are so keen on technology these days that they are careless about anything that has nothing to do with it. Personally, I think we should value them equally. Everyone should be given the chance of choosing which one they like. If printed books ever disappear, we will rob people of their rights to prefer.
I hope that we’ll be seeing both of them in the following years. It’s sad to see everything becoming technological.
